Diwali Festival and Abhyanga Snana
A ritual that is performed on the morning of Naraka Chaturdasi of Diwali, Abhyanga snana has not only a prime cultural significance but it also provides numerous health benefits.
Benefits of Abyanga:
अभ्यङ्गं आचरेत् नित्यं, स जरा श्रमवातहा ।
द्र्ष्टि प्रसाद पुष्टि आयु: सुस्वप्न सुत्वक् दर्ढ्यकृत ॥

Generally, Tila Taila is the best for all type of body constitution. Coconut oil can be used during summer. Medicated oils are used for Abhyanga in various disorders. Mahanarayana Thaila, Balaswagandhadi Thaila , Ksheerabala Taila are also used in all types of vataja Rogas. Sukumara Taila and Tejas oil are used for children. For vata and kapha dominant nature, oil is slightly heated and for pitta dominant oil is used in room temperature.
After massaging each body part leave as it is for 15-20 minutes and subsequently take hot water bath using Gram flour Soap which helps to maintain skin moisture in this winter season.
